Refugee
Resettlement Our main focus is helping refugees from war-torn countries get a new start in the United States. We collect donated furniture, appliances, household goods, linens, and clothing. We sort, clean, and store these items, and we set up a family's home prior to their arrival. We make sure that families have all the basics that they need to live in their new home. We also provide clothing to the family and toys and school supplies for the children. |

Tutoring
Program Our tutoring program provides much needed support to both school-age children and adults that are new to our country. Volunteers work one-on-one with the refugees once a week to help them with English, as well as any school subject that they may need assistance with. Volunteer drivers provide transportation to and from the program for the refugees. We currently have 83 children and 15 adults in our tutoring program. |

Child Care Center Our Child Care Center, located in the same facility as the Family Learning Center (Rochester City School District's Adult Education facility), serves the unique needs of refugee parents attending English language and job training classes. Previously, refugee parents were not able to attend the education classes that they need in order to become self-sufficient due to the lack of a viable child care option. The Saint’s Place Refugee Child Care Center provides refugee children 18 months to 5 years with a safe, accessible, and loving educational environment that meets their unique needs and helps them prepare for a successful transition into our public school system.

Sharing Our
Surplus At Saint's Place, we attempt to help as many people as possible and we don't believe in letting anything go to waste. Everything that we receive is either used directly to help our refugees or is shared with another worthy agency. If we receive items that we can't use, we pass them on to someone who can use them. Many different agencies within the Greater Rochester Area tap into our resources. This includes: Head Start, ABVI Goodwill, Matthew’s Closet, Hillside, DayStar, Elizabeth Ministry, House of Mercy, Green Acres, Bethany House, ReStart Substance Abuse, Birthright, St. Pauley Textile, SafeHaven, LollyPop Farm, and the YWCA. |
