Van Driver
We are currently in need of a volunteer to be responsible
for pick-up and delivery of donated furniture using our van. This van is a
normal full size van and does not require any special licenses to drive. A
three hour commitment is needed/week. It is preferred, but not required,
that the volunteer be able to lift furniture.
Student Advocate/Tutor / Drivers
Volunteer Advocate/Tutor must work a minimum of 1 day/week
(Thursday from 4:30-6:30 p.m.)
to counsel refugee students at Saint's Place Ministry Center. Volunteer
must commit to the
school year. Each volunteer is paired with a student to assist in
understanding and completing
their homework assignments. Students are provided an after school snack.
Volunteer must
also be willing to work as a liaison for the student if school supplies or
other support is needed.
Students range in age from 5 to 18.
Drivers are needed to drive students to the program and back home again
each week.
Ministry House donation sorting
Volunteers need 2-hour/week minimum commitment sorting
clothing and household items. Volunteers must have good mobility.
Receptionist/ greeter/telephone
Volunteer needs to make a half-day commitment of either 10 a.m. to
1 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Responsibilities include greeting
visitors,
answering the telephone, and light secretarial duties.
Public relations/marketing expert
Volunteer can work a flexible schedule on a
project-by-project basis. We need
assistance in developing a brochure and informational pieces as well as
assistance
in the entire print production process.
Secretarial/Computer assistance
Help is needed with typing correspondence and light data
entry.
Development/Fundraising Professional
Volunteers needed to work on a fundraising strategy and
suggest possible sources for grants, in-kind donations and private
solicitations.
Special Events
Volunteers needed to plan and work on fund raising events
throughout the year.
